Angry Just lost my domain

Well I use to like namecheap, been with them for many years, but no more. They have caused me to lose a domain name and are not doing one damn thing to fix what there fucked up system caused. So far they are just sending me the same email over and over;I am getting no where. This so pisses me off big time!

namecheap ? thats wierd, did the domain expire ? did someone transfer it out ? how exactly did you lose it ??

No it didn't expire, I just purchased about 2 months ago. I was helping someone out by giving them that domain so I pushed it to them but they did not get it. They had already opened an account with namecheap, got there email welcoming them, with there username and password. Yet they cannot loging in because it says they do not have an account. So when I sent the domain to them it went to someone else. And after many useless emails to namecheap they finally decide this person does have an account, but lucky me I have lost my domain and the person I sent it to will not get it. So hell someone got lucky today and got a free domain on me. I have many domains over on namecheap and now I will have to move them all. Not happy, not happy at all.

How long ago did you push it to them and did you use the right email addy they're using at Namecheap?
Did you check the Whois for the domain to see who has it?
Login at NC and check your Transaction History and see if there's a record of your push there..

Or better yet screw the email tag, you live in the US Call them and get ahold of someone in sales...

If you used the correct email addy it should have been OK.

Seems you might be one of the people helping namecheap debug their record keeping system. I'm sure your past experience with them (when they were a reseller) was satisfactory. But, things have changed.

During their transition from reseller to registrar I would probably shop elsewhere. At least give them time to debug their automated registry interface.

How did you pay for the domain? what records do you have?

Print it out and send a registered letter.
And calling might help as well.

seems odd that they cant track where it went and reverse the problem.

Its why we created the process of internal transfers years ago (and everyone else copied), so that it remains with the registrar, and errors can be corrected.

Give them a call, they should be able to sort it out. If the person on the phone cant help then try someone higher up (assuming they have one).

And be polite, the fastest way to get a stonewall as a response is to go crazy on them on the phone.

Thanks everyone for all of the advice and trying to help me out with my mess. I am happy to say that this big mess has been fixed. They finally found the info on the person that opened an account with them "the one there system said did not have an account", they found where my domain went, and put it back into my account. So it was a big pain in the butt but they did fix it.

Well now my WhoisGuard for 3 of my domains is gone. I just paid to re-new the whoisguard for those domains in Sept 08, they are good till Sept 09, but now for some reason between now and yesterday they are gone. I am not sure what the hell is going on over at namecheap but this is plain out pathetic!

Yes they do when you first purchase a domain with them, but when you renew that domain the whoisguard is extra.
