Is .info domains worht to use?

We know .info domains are really cheap But are they worth the time to build a website to? on terms of seo and traffic?

If so what type of sites is good for .info domains?

for me it does not matter if domain is .com or .info. You can make your .info domain name No1 in google the same as .com or .net

I built a network on .info sites. I figured at a buck each, if they didn't work, tossing them would be just $75 or so.

They are feeders but get SE traffic and while they don't make massive sales, they are microniche and highly targeted for SEs so do ok.

I like .info I don't use them for sites I am going to put a lot of effort into but for a blog or basic site they are great.

I have quite a few .infos and they are built and developed as exactly what the tld was reckoned for, "informational".
The top 4 tld`s being .com, .net , .org, .info respectively, the .info tld was designated as

IMO .INFOs are as good as any for development in respect to SE inclusion and positioning.

Search Engines don't give a rats ass what the TLD or ccTLD is, they (SEs) focus on website textual content and authority. For branding and human recognition .COMs always win out. As Dave cites the .INFO TLD is (should be) intuitive by default which was part of it's intended origin.

I have a lot of infos and they rank as a good as my .com and .net domains.

They are cheap only for first year, renewal fee is just like for .com

If you are in for the long term, stick to .coms.......and go for .nets if you really want specific keywords and the .com is already taken.......down the road, you will be happy to have those and get good money for them! (you will have a hard time selling a .info for a good price unless it's a VERY good name)

That's the way I do it, and do not proclaim myself a domain guru, but I know that my portfolio will be worth good money when I decide to take a long and good retirement.
