Your opinion on missing letters

I'm considering possibly purchasing some domains strictly as an investment and maybe holding onto them for a while. I'm interested in domains that have a letter missing (ie flowrs.com or insurnce.com or loanfindr.com) and im looking for opinions on the viability of this type of investments appreciating in the future. I don't see many of these types of domains going up for sale but there are quite a few available out there that are catchy (prefr.com or backordr.com). I guess the downside to these types of names are that google may not show them love if they dont have full keywords in the name. I dunno, it's just an idea ive been looking into and id love to have your opinion.

You can use them always like misspelled type-in domains to collect parking cash.

it's always "worth a shot", to try one at least.. see how it performs for you:

- buy the domain
- park it, or put up your own keyword related content
- collect traffic stats, etc
- determine if it's worth doing more

I mis-type them myself but personal opinion is I would never purchase one, specially when google says "Do you mean"... but that is me

Well my idea was inspired by sites like flickr.com and stockpickr.com which are pretty big successes. My goal isn't to capitalize on typo traffic but rather find highly brandable domain names such as daytradr.com. Thanks for all the opinions so far.
