False registration details can stop you getting listed

I've noticed that a lot of domain owners are not bothering to maintain their registration details, or are using completely false information. This is against the registration rules and can lead to your name being taken out of the zone or even being confiscated. A more immediate difficulty that arises from having bad registration information, is being banned by link list and tgp owners. The increasing numbers of cheaters mean that many of the larger sites are checking on domains to protect their surfers.

You should also make sure that you have a valid email address there as well. If you miss the domain renewal notices, you risk losing your domain.

i usually check the registered "whois" info on every submit against the info that i have onfile from the partner submitter. if there is a mismatch, the gallery is declined and the account will be put on hold.. almost 30% of our submitters were using false info to get partner accounts, or submitting galleries for other people...

Same here - I too check the whois and compare it to the info supplied when signing up for my ppc se. If the site looks like something someone would buy traffic for, I allow it. But it will never be approved as an affiliate.

I was also concerned at the beginning about giving out my real info but it´s a business and there´s no need to hide!
I use my real details on every domain and maby I can get some real networking if you´re living the street next to me ;-)

I'm bumping this because it's really important for gallery submitters to have correct details in their domain records.

What about if you have Privacy Protection on your domain? I get accepted on most places wit Privacy Protection on on my who is!

The only place I've ever been denied from for WHOIS protected domains is The Hun. When I used to submit there, I had to use another domain.

If you are paying for a partner account on a TGP that does that, they should be ok with you protecting your privacy...I've never had a problem.

But The Hun is the only TGP I'm aware of that won't let you submit for that specific reason (unless you're buying spots obviously).

I was listed on the Hun almost every time I submit to them so I dont see problem with who is and TGP gallery ....

you were never listed on the hun if your whois information is protected by a privacy service...

fake information, obviously they can't always tell...but you can't get listed if you are using a privacy protection service.

i'm not saying I don't believe you...i'm just saying that you're either using a very obscure privacy service, your whois protection isn't enabled on every aspect of your WHOIS, or you used fake registration info and his script can't tell. you're not supposed to be able to even submit to the hun with privacy protection.

if you've found away around that, that's cool. but you're an unusual exception rather than the rule.

slaxxx that is very possible that they check my domain somwhere where my protection is not valid .... anyway that means that my protection is not working well
