Tips on Expired Domains

Share your best tips (or stuff you'd like to learn) on expired domains in this thread.

So that includes:

-expired domain services like deleteddomains or brujah's service
-judging the value of an expired domain
-buying domains that already have yahoo/dmoz listings
-buying domains that already get traffic and judging the quality of that traffic
-when to pass on buying a domain
-buying for the purpose of SE listings
etc. etc.

I put the dropped name www.LawnSex.com into an auction here. It would be interesting to hear comments on this - I posted the word tracker results for a start.

I'm aware that it's not a premium name, but I think it's worth a bit more than reg fee.

If your going to get into that area, have a LOT of cash on hand, have a good lawyer, be a register, be able to whack up sites in 30 sec and have software that is more advanced than those who have been doing this for 3 years plus and have everything down to an art.

I'm selling regs for $8.95

It's the sites in 30 seconds that I haven't quite mastered, but I've improved on the 10 months figure that it used to be for me.

If Lawn Sex doesn't sell, I'm happy to chuck some sponsor hosted galleries of sex on the lawn up there. It'll make a couple of sales a year at least without any maintenance. It's better than Moose Sex anyway.
