I've just registered an email vanity domain.

The domain is rnage.com and of course the mail addy would be c@rnage

I'm not sure if I should keep it for a bit of fun, or sell it.

What do you think of these vanity domains?

I have and have had danemorgan -{[AT]}- danemorgan. com for years. And the only reason I have the domain is for the email address.

Initially I wanted to brand myself in the internet marketing game, but the egos and personality cult in that market were just a little too distateful to me. Now it's been my primary email address for so long that I kinda have to keep it.

It's cool, the look on the average person's face though, when you give them that for an email address.

I've been able to sell email and subdomain accounts on some of my more popular mainstream sites. Not really enough to make much money but some people really like the idea of having a custom email address pointed to their hotmail account.

So what do you guys think of these custom email domains, where a single word with the letter "a" has the "a" replaced by an at-sign to give the email address?

I dunno, they're cool amongst webmasters in a way, but I think the retardation of the general public would cause confusion (what, where is the @ sign?) hehe

But what about single word emails where the letter a has been replaced by an "@" sign to make the address, that was the question. example - d@ne.com is the email address on the domain ne.com

FF's example would be hunglike@fuckinghorse.com on the domain fuckinghorse.com

I think they are kinda "cool" so you'll get quite some people impressed with your email.
It sure looks a lot more original to have c@rnage than carnage@hotmail FE.

Still I think that you don't realy need to go thát far though. If you have a good domain name, it's impressive enough too, to have an extra domain, only for the email is a bit too much. But if ya got the money to waste, no-one 'll stop ya!

Well the website doesn't have to be rnage.com. Because many browsers ignore the letters to the left of th @ ( a weakness exploited by some phishing spam) you can type the c@rnage into a browser address bar.
