So Enom charges to transfer my domain name
thirty bucks to have it transferred..is it cheaper to get the domain and webspace from teh same company?

You should never host your site and register your domain with the same company.
I've never heard of enom charging for a transfer. I think that you are trying to register through them as an end user, and they are charging you for an extra year at retail rates. enom does this to discourage you and get you to use one of their resellers, they will charge you $9.00 or less. The extra year charge is standard amongst all registrars. __________________
