Scripts, Software, or Services to find Domains?
I'm looking for something that can let me search for available domains which lets you input words and its finds available domains with those combinations (and you can specify the max # of words, so if i put in 100 words, but i only want 1 or 2 word domain names, it can do that). Would also be cool if it automatically did misspellings but not a huge deal.
Anyone aware of a site (free or pay), desktop program, or whatever that can do this? Has to be able to check to see if the domains are available obviously. thanks ![]() |

You probably know about the ones that let you look for specific words -
www.deleteddomains.com www.whois.sc www.exxxpired.com I don't know of one that checks by word count because of the dictionaary problems, but I'll see if I can find one. __________________

DNA - http://www.domainpunch.com/products/dnapro Domain Name Pro - www.mozzle.com Stypo - http://www.stypo.com - excellent typo generator that also checks availability and overture + ext. score They all offer free trials, I recommend everyone checks out Stypo (be sure to lower the lookup limit or overture will ban your IP) Grant |

The best place to use as a rough guide is overture:
Uk Specific: http://inventory.uk.overture.com/d/s...ry/suggestion/ Worldwide: http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/ Searching for the domain name + the extension (domainname.com) will give you the amount of times people typed that domain into one of the overture search engines. This can roughly be translated into how many type-ins per day a domain will get. ie on the uk specific overture freeporn.co.uk gets a score of 301 for the month, as I own the domain I know that this equates to 150-200 typeins per day. A domain name + ext. with 0 results indicates that it will probably get very little or no type-in traffic. It is only to be used as a very rough guide tho. Hope that helps, Grant |

thanks grant, i've been playing around w those programs.
do you ever guess at how many type-in's you'll get based on overture/wordtracker results...but not using the domain name? like let's say i was going to buy bigbutts.com, can you make any guess on type-in's based on the results for "big butts" and "bigbutts" ? in your experience, like roughly? |

It is impossible to tell, obviously the higher the figure for the phrase the more chance there are of type-ins. On most domain forums the overture + ext. count is considered the most important as it almost guarantees type-in traffic.
Personally if im looking to buy a domain with traffic I always use the +ext. count as guidance, never without. Grant |

hmmm...
I have a domain that gets type-in traffic and makes sales but there is *no* overture info for it with the extension. Neither "domainname" and "domainname.com" have any results...but "domain name" has 31 for overture. So ovt+ext is sorta a pretty rough guideline, no? Been poking around dnforum but haven't really seen anyone mention a better indicator. |

domainname.com can be webmasters looking for info on the name because it's on the expired lists.

As Headboy states, the figures could be inaccurate due to webmasters looking for info on a domain. grant |

Alexa installs spyware for this, and so does Google.
![]() I reckon Ebay, Amazon and a load of others do it as well - it makes you wonder how your PC finds the time to do any work with all the Microsoft logging software dragging everything back. ![]() __________________

Yeah I should clarify expired domains aren't the issue...I actually meant a program that you could enter in keywords and it would find you one and two word combinations, along with misspellings, typos, synonyms, etc. for unregistered domains.
But it's not a big deal...I've found a method that's almost as good...just a lot more steps ![]() |
