I've seen a lot of comments about domain ownership recently that seem to show that people don't really think about it. If you were buying a car, would you just buy the first one you see, and then just drive it around without doing anything except put petrol in it? You'd pretty soon end up either crashing or breaking down. Maybe you don't want to spend time learning the difference between understeer and oversteer, but it could save you life if you did.

I also only choose a name, setup the hosting and start my ftp client...

I have domains I have owned for a few years and still never developed. There's no way I'd buy a car just to look at.

Somehow these things slip past so quickly.

Yep, it's easy to buy a domain and just let it lie for a year or more. Time flies.

That's why I try to "peck" at stuff constantly, even if I don't get much done at a time there's always some progress.
