nofollow links to minor domains

Well Google has said that if a blog or link list links to URLs using nofollow, it won't take account of the link for calculating PR. However, given Google's obsession with net stats, I find it difficult to believe that Google won't log the link somewhere in it's files. A link to a trivial domain like Big hot boobs coming from a big boobs page may not be the most exciting thing it's found, but it has got to have some sort of relevance in the grand scheme of things.

I agree. There's also other search engines to consider, which don't use as sophisticaed methods as google.

The latest word is that when showing backlinks, google only displays the first from each domain, even if you have a link from every page of that domain. (this doesn't indicate whether the links are still present in the background, being used by their ranking algorithms...) Spreading links among many domains may be the way to go.

Google may be big, But it's not the only SE out there.

I think all the big SEs have said that they will observe the nofollow instruction. I just think that Google will follow with a different department.

SE's change what they're doing every few days, keeping track of all
of it is a full time job and then you do things their way and they change it before ya get the page uploaded...
