What's in a name?

Hiya All,

What do you look for in a domain name? Of course we all look for those 'gold mine' names with ovt. But, what else trips your triggers?

Being a domainaholic 'trying to recover'

It doesn't seem to matter. If it appeals to me I buy it. Probably the 'wrong' thing to do from a business stand point. Since, I'll never get even reg fee in return. But it's so much fun!

I know some people buy just ovt names or good misspells, cash is king. But I guess, it depends on what the ovt number is on a name. Some won't buy if it's not over 100, 1000, etc..

Give me your thoughts.

Right now I'm trying to find names that I think will be good for direct navigation. I think that this will be an alternative to the use of search engines unless the SEs manage to improve their SERPs

the biggest domainaholic just posted below you LOL which is why he is the MOD of this forum ..... and I think a lot of us do things that are wrong from a business stand point, but to each their own I guess. However if you do have some darn good names, they can ultimately be put up for sale with a nice return ;o))

I never hold out much hope for the engines to exert themselves. I prefer true-typeins myself. But, I have names that just appeal to me. Some I develop. Some just collect dust.

You're right Jade. I've got my eye on some names now. Not very high ovt, but some.
