New Guy with a Lot of Domains for Sale

Hi,

I have been lurking on the boards here for the last few days trying to decide if I want to enter this industry. This after I registered 180 adult domain names. I am still undecided. My biggest deterrent is the amount of time, commitment and work that you all seem to put into it. I admittidly am a bit lazy when it comes to creating, promoting, marketing sites. I'm the kind of guy who likes to put up a site and move on to another and just hope that the first on is successful. I'm not asking for critisism, it's just how I am and am aware of it. lol. I personally am not prepared to spend 12 hour days, 6/7 day weeks into building, promoting all of these domains.. it seems a bit overwhelming.

Anyway, I have been in the domain business for about 3 to 4 years and am a member of the 3 main domain forums. It was suggested by one of those members that I post my names here to see if there is any interest. I have 100% feedback rating on ebay. User id: strictlynames*com (230) and equally successful transactions on the domain forums.

I will accept offers in this post, or by PM ...

(I do not have/use icq) which seems to be a preferred form of communication here.

Welcome to the Netpond domain forum Dave, and I hope you'll be a frequent visitor.

The paypal only restriction could be a limiting factor as so many adult webmasters have been screwed by PayPal. I refuse to accept it because a PayPal payment isn't final for 6 months, and PayPal may reverse it if your buyer has a problem with another unrelated transaction. You might like to have a look at Netpond points. They're a secure method of payment with no associated charges, and I've used them without problems for transactions up to $250 (25,000 points). The main drawback to them is that you have to wait until the end of the month to cash them in, and then wait a couple of weeks for a cheque/epassporte payment. However this is an advantage for domain trading, as it acts a free escrow service.

Wow, i've used Paypal for over 5 years with hundreds of transactions and never once a problem.

There are two schools of opinion about these. Some people think they should be registered and used for non-sexual sites so that that are removed from the pool for potential abuse. Others think you should steer well clear of them.

In view of the current porn climate in America, I think the second view is the safest.

I understand the first school of thought...and it really isn't a bad one...I just wouldn't want to be personally associated with a domain with that word in it...my town is still all abuzz that one of the sicko fucks busted last week lives here, and grew up the next county over.

it seems as long as they domain is not actually USED for illegal activity, it would be fine. As long as it points to an over 18 site, but still it does seem kind of funny (or as you say ironic) that I did register an oxy moronic name which actually goes to show that I fully wasn't aware that the term was for underage stuff. I just thought Lol*ta was another term for a young hot chick. lol, live and learn. Hard to believe I'm 35 yrs old, huh? lol

ok, about Netpond points... a couple of questions. As the acceptor/receiver of NP Points for goods, you can see how these would be the most relevant concerns i would have.

How liquid are they?... is it a simple "i would like to cash out my points" and wait for a check?

and Is there a fee charged for cashing out?

They're easy to use for payment, you just click on donate under you avatar, and enter the amount to send. There is also a bank which pays interest, and doesn't tell everybody how many points you've got. Don't be put off by the number of points on show in a person's "pocket". There is no fee for cashing out as long as you do it via Netpond. Other members can cash your points, but they may charge a fee for this.

There is also a shop forum where you can use them to buy domain registrations, hosting, content, trafic and stuff like that.

I will go ahead and accept NP Points as well. Doesn't seem to be a down side other than waiting, which is not a big deal to me. I'm not in a big rush.

So for everyone that is interested, I will accept offer via paypal (discreet transaction)... wouldn't have to list the names in the paypal transactions, only as a payment for "Goods/Services" ... or I'll accept offers in NP Points.

I hear that! ... this is only a fraction of the domains that I own.. Currently I have about 1400 domains... and I sold 170 others last month.

fun business though. And it's keeping my belly full and the lights on.
