You know I think that the whole eu thing is a rip off. Alot of them don't even speak english, and they don't have useful measures like feet, perches and furlongs.

You know that's one thing we can thank Iran for..
The US was going to switch to the metric scale years ago to make
everyone using the same scale, we even started putting up
Speed Limit signs on the Interstates with MPH and Kilometers.

Then We had our Embassy taken over in Iran and Hostages held for
over a year. The main reason they were finally released was because
90 percent of the oil rigs in the world were put up by companies in
the US using parts made in the US and those rigs take a beating and
break down alot.
Iran couldn't get any spare parts anywhere but the US because
nobody else used our measurement scale..
That's when the speed limit signs in Kilos came down and the idea
was scrapped.

I had an uncle who worked for a company that built and maintained
the rigs in Russia and even when the cold war was on and
travel to Russia was baned he had to go and spend 4 months a year
because of contracts we had to honor..
