j/script redirects

I've just come accross this redirect on a domain (url changed of course). Whatever your opinion of j/script, there are some surfers that disable it, especially when cruising porn sites. Why chuck them away for no advantage?

Look, I hate javascript as well, but I don't think it makes a difference like this.

99% of surfers have it, and the few that don't are the security buffs who would also know how to download full DVD's from bittorrent and never pay anyway.

Just my thoughts.

Well this thread was supposed to be helpful. It's probably one of the least efficient ways to redirect a domain name, and it loses surfers - even if it's only 1%.

It may have something to do with SEO - I've seen arguments for and against all the commways of redirecting, 301, 302, meta and others.

People use javascript redirect because it is supposed to be the easiest..... dunno, actually it is kind a most difficult imho. Maybe if they search for redirecting from Google they find all those javascript pages or something. Most use javascript redirect, I tend to use PHP or htaccess.
