Value of domains registered a long while ago (in 2000)?

I have a mainstream domain I don't want any more (inherited it from a corporation that bankrupted in 2004). The domain doesn't any inbound link, no traffic and the name itself sucks but I was wondering if the fact it was registered 6 years ago gave it any value.
I'm not looking to sell it $1000 of course, but I was wondering it the age made it worth a few more additional bucks? (like $15 instead of $8).

yes its some advantage and you can get extra few bucks because of that

it could, but depends on the name, a bad name does not get nicer growing old like an ugly woman is not getting nicer with age (usually, excluded surgeries

Length of registration without having been deleted certainly adds value as a single factor. As has been pointed out already, there are several other things to be taken into account. If the name has been used for illegal purposes, then it could be harder to prove it's under new ownership if it hasn't been through a drop cycle.

good point, just hard to examine, if there were illegal actions in the past... how would you do that beside some short searchengine lookups?

There are a few blacklist checkers around but they're basically for adult not mainstream

yeah that's what I thought, so at the end - if it's a great name, it's even better with age, but if it's not, try selling it anyway
