Why don't sponsors leak new site names to friendly domainers?

I've just been looking for names to use promoting the new reality kings site, and all the obvious ones have been taken, and are being routed to unrelated parking pages or other sites. Wouldn't it be sensible for sponsors to let supportive domainers use those names to promote their sites?

Guess most affiliates don't do the related domain thing like you do. So aside from buying their own variants it didn't occur to them.

some do, i have asked in the past and a couple have been kind enough to let me know in advance so that i could get some good domains to promote them

I've had one sponsor actually want my domain turned off completely, said I was "competing" with their main site, which is laughable, because every link on the site was a ccbill referal link to their main site. Either I designed it better than theirs, or they just don't understand how affiliates work. Either way, I stopped all traffic to their site overnight after getting them a dozen or so signups. Sad really. You'd think sponsors would have gotten it.
