Yes, you are right. A person's name is NOT a trademark. Now if I'd registered a name like Tom Cruise dot com, that would be a trademark violation.

There are a bunch of Madonna trademarks in the TESS search engine, but I couldn't find any owned by her. Most are dead too

Technically it's: Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie =)

If Madonna is trademarked, I can't find it on the US Patent and Trademark site. I wouldn't think it could be, like Bob or James probably can't be.

I've always found that to be interesting, considering Jesus had brothers and sisters (James, Joses, Juda, and Simon) if she was an "eternal virgin" would his brothers and sisters also have been immaculately conceived?
