- Make mini SEO sites for niche terms and have adsense and/or affiliate/clickbank link on it.
- Make a high quality resource website and sell advertising space, include adsense, affiliates etc.
- Make a high quality blog which builds a loyal user base and sell advertising space, include adsense, affiliates etc.
- Make shitty sites and get them PR and sell off link spots
- Make a directory, get it some PR and sell off spots in your directory.
- Make a website Sell your own products or products you buy in at wholesale

How to promote a site:

- Exchange Links (mostly 3-way) with other webmasters - not many people doing it these days so quite hard to do.
- Buy inbound links (loads of people selling links and you can get good prices)
- Buy advertising space at relevant sites
- Create quality content that people will want to link to anyway.
- Use social bookmarking sites to help get more inbound links and make your website go viral
- make article/web page specifically to try and go viral (e.g http://www.subservientchicken.com/)
- Build a large network and throw traffic around it or feed it towards a main site.
