I was wondering if buying traffic for mainstream sites is as popular as buying traffic for adult sites? For those that do who are some good companies to go with?

I've used trafficvance for a dating/personals sites in the past... I only made about $100 for every $75 in advertising. It seems to be crappy traffic coming from popunders and reminds me too much of zango type advertising. I decided to stay away from that and stick with main search engines like yahoo and msn adcenter right now.

I'm also looking for new means of ppc traffic as yahoo can get pretty expensive with everyone bidding so high.

Speaking of buying traffic... I wonder how good this google "cost per action" advertising is gonna be. I'm assuming that you won't be able to use affiliate programs with that? I guess i'll have to wait and find out.

Ive never brought traffic per say, but I am starting to buy links on PR5+ sites to get my status up a little, although with the new Google talk on purchased links I may look into different types of networking... Yeah the CPA thing will be one to watch, I find myself waiting to read reviews on others experiences before diving in!

Buying traffic can convert a little for you but I wouldnt waste too much time on it as theres better things you can do with your time...such as finding "top notch" sponsors who convert honestly....which I believe the Zango infested Adult Friend Finder in your webmaster page does not. Maybe you should look into how they work if your not aware. The nets biggest nuisance possibly.
