I am sure that there are plenty of ponders with their finger in the mainstream pie that makes a few $$$ from them each month. I've been exploring a few affiliate programs for mainstream and have found a lot of them to be crap and not working for me.

How about we compile a list whether it be long or short about the ones that do work and if you have actually been paid, customer service and how well is those ads comverting on your site, whatever it might be.

Google Adsense - Can convert quite well if the content matches the ads as well as where you place the ads on the page. Played around with colours and shapes to see which ones work for me. I have received payout from them, cheque takes forever to clear in a UK bank (annoying) and I'd probably push them until I find a few more better alternatives....

cj.com - They have over 1000 sponsors paying pps and ppl, all tracked true cj.com so no bulshit. 25$/eur minimum payout.

I see they have added a lot more UK companies in the last year, makes them ideal now for my one blog.

Their commision is low. But they sell tons of stuff!

Ebay:
Never tried my self. But many are making a living on ebay alone.

I would try out fastclick for the CPM affiliate program. Having good success with this.

actually, adsense should be paying you in your local currency.

I myself prefer to search for sponsors related to my subject, as most of my mainstream sponsors who really convert run their own affiliate programs. CJ & ShareASale are not in my top 10 mainstream programs btw...

I found that many cj sponsors have very SHORT cookie lengths... 15 days sometimes

Uhmm if you don't mind me asking, how do you normally find these affiliates, do you just google them and how do you know they will actually pay out?

yes Nicky, I research my smaller programs, and there is never any way your gonna know if they will pay or shave... same as in adult

Affiliatewindow.com is a UK based site with a lot of big name UK companies. Nice little place and I've been using them for a couple of years now. Not a single affiliate scheme but like CJ.com with lots of sites - just for the UK.

The only thing I don't like about shareasale are the product feeds.
They should change those to csv format comma seperated not pipe.
