Moving from blogger to wp
So here's my dilemma, I need to move my blog from a free hosted one at blogger with my own domain to a wp blog on a paid host, as i've read so far there are ways to import my blog posts into wordpress from blogger, but seeing as there aren't so many i could just as easily copy and paste the code ( i get succes(0) error when i try to import anyway)
However what i'm interested is what happens with my SE indexed pages when i move? If I move all of my posts from say domain/date/post to domain/post, change the categories a little or anything like that, how bad will i get screwed in the SE part? Will google drop all of my former pages and will i have to wait for it to reindex the new posts? Will i get penalty for duplicate content ? |

What kind of SE traffic are you getting currently?
When moving a site from a domain you own to another domain you own, you usually add a 301 redirect to the htaccess file, but I'm not sure what you can do with blogger. You may have to close the blog there and wait for your new blog to get re-indexed. If it's not an old blog, I don't suppose there is a lot of traffic involved already? __________________

No there isn't a lot of traffic, i'm gonna be using the SAME domain though, but i will change from blogger hosting and platform to wordpress and paid hosting
i'm more worried about duplicate content, i used to have blog_name.blogspot.com, then i switched to my own domain but still using blogger hosting, and now when i switch to a different host i can easily rewrite the posts in wordpress but they will still be indexed at blog_name.blogspot.com as well |

that easy...move your content first... confirm its there and delete blogspot content ..leave a forwarding url in place....

Good move in going to your own wordpress site. I'm really not a big fan of the free hosting at blogger. Nothing against them there actually great I just don't have the absolute controll.
