So many people love playing games online, in fact lots of people I know play runescape etc, so online gaming is big business.

Blogger has blogs on most subjects and even the more obscure blogs seem to have comments and subscribers in time, so theres no reason a blog about free games should not do well.

I was thinking about making couple of sites with a similar theme and then link them up to eachother. Next one would be about classic games reviews. It's something I can write a lot of easily:-)

Reviews works quite nicely as well as tips an hints about each game... people love to cheat, entice them.

most of the time cheats ruin the game for me so I usually just avoid them until I've atleast finished it on my own

hope it works out well for you Lewanker

Hmm, found this flash games site, which allows you to embed games into your blog, but when I do there's always a huge space between my introductory text, and the actual game window. Anyone know why?

Site here for those who missed it:-)

This is the code I'm using right after the text:

Quote:
<center><table summary="Free flash games from Owen's World http://www.owensworld.com" border="0" bordercolor="#000000" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tbody>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.owensworld.com/flashgames/files/play.swf?game=880">
<param name="quality" value="high">
<param name="menu" value="false">
******* allowscriptaccess="never" allownetworking="internal" src="http://www.owensworld.com/flashgames/files/play.swf?game=880" quality="high" menu="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/" height="316" width="435"></embed>
<noembed>Sorry, you will need the &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;a mp;lt;a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/" target="_blank"&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;am p;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;Flash Player&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp ;amp;amp;lt;/a&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp; amp;gt; to play this game.</noembed>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="50%"><a href="http://www.owensworld.com/flashgames/code.htm">Add Games to your own site</a></td>
<td width="50%"><div align="right"><a href="http://www.owensworld.com/flashgames/">More Flash Games!</a></div></td>
</tr>
</tbody></table></center><br>

your td width="50%" is most likely the problem ...

the line is trying to use 50% of the entire page width

try setting a static value for this, and make it around 5px smaller than the physical space you have on the page for the cell, as being even 1px over, will result in the CSS bumping your cell down to the first line that is has room to include it..

Nice site concept ... I would look into putting the site on your own domain ASAP though ... BLOGSPOT does not need the extra pagerank -- apply it to your own domain!

Removed those tags completely, and alot of other tags to see if it was the problem - it was not:-/ Here's the new code:
Quote:
<center><table>
<tr>
<td colspan="2">
******* allowscriptaccess="never" allownetworking="internal" src="http://www.owensworld.com/flashgames/files/play.swf?game=880" quality="high" menu="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/" height="316" width="435"></embed>
<noembed>Sorry, you will need the Macromedia Flash player to play this game.</noembed>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>

</tr>
</table></center><br>

Theres nothing in that code that looks wrong really, the only thing I could suggest is defining the actually height and width of the space its going into and seeing if that makes a difference. ie <td width="440" height="320">

Tnx, but that didn't work either. I guess I'll just settle for the way it looks now, and see if I can find other embedded games that won't screw up anything:-P

I know that this reply is a little late in the thread...

I have had a look at that page, and have found that the space that you talk about is due to the page design.

The design of the page is using div tags. Unless you can get in and adjust the template (which I don't think is possible using blogger, but if I someone can disprove me, then I don't mind!)

I copied the page source, into Dreamweaver, then cut the code from in between the body tags, inserted a 1x1 table, centered, to 1024x768 maximised guides then pasted the code back in to the table, and it sorts the problem out. Fixed width on any browser.

If you want the code, just let me know, and I will post it up, in its entirety.
