I have a great Body Do you?

I need help my computer keeps randomly turning off
my pc randomly turning off. No restart or error message just turning off.
I thought it was because of overheating, but i change the power supply to a new but still turning off randomly. without specific mins/time, sometimes after 10 mins using it, sometimes 15mins and even longer than an hour. I believe the problem to be caused by something other than overheating, Virus? spyware? What do you guys think? |

Best thing to check if it is overheating related or not, is to run it with the side cover off for a while.
See if it still does it, or if it lasts a bit longer first. Make sure things are all nice and clean inside too, take some canned air and a cotton bud to the fans if they are dusty! __________________

That happened to me a year ago, turns out 3 fans had failed and it was overheating so bad that it ended up frying my chip and motherboard.
Check all your fans... ![]() __________________

Toothbrush + fans.. do it like you change the oil in your car. It kept my oldest computer (14 years old) still running.. and that means I have many more now lol..
Spyware usually tells you it's going to shutdown cause they want to spam your screen at least one more time.. or more if possible lol I'm guessing hardware or overheating too. __________________

Check your RAM
Run MEMTEST overnight and let it do all of its tests ... (If you have a Ubuntu LiveCD, you can boot your computer with the liveCD and run memtest from teh liveCD.) depending on how you have your PC configured, any hard stop/fatal error could cause it to shutdown and/or reboot (again depending on how you have it set up) I have seen bad RAM cause a computer to shut down on many occasions. __________________

haha good thing you told us.. we'd keep making up new things to troubleshoot for all of eternity.
But regardless, very good to hear you're up and running. I hate hearing of people with computer troubles cause I know I freak out if I don't have at least 1 good running pc setup for me ![]() __________________
