Background template question please...

hi ive been looking for an template background like old parched paper kinda brown yellow musty with a burn.

Would i have to get a piece of paper make it look old scan it and use as background? Or would this look lame ? Or would i be better using photoshop or something?

Has any one got such a template or know where to look please be great

Got a couple, but the burn marks are hard work, especially if you have a repeating background...

I'll let you have them, I don't use them.

when you say repeating background do u mean my banner?

Would i be better putting it in the inner border or outer what do you think would be best please

When I mean repeated backgrounds, I mean the ones that are reproduced over and over, to suit specific browser sizes, or page sizes, basically using the repeat x-y in the CSS styles that control the 'pretty' bits of the website!!!

There are a couple of parchments attached to a PM!

Damn you guys beat me to it lol

I love being creative like that. I've used the side of a moldy television as a website background, a rusty pole, and I've used a crumpled AND/OR burned paper as a background... I've even used thumb tacks. I just take pictures of stuff, scanning is crappy.. Pictures look more natural and you have more flexibility. Just point, aim, get your artwork.. no good? try again? Scanning is like uhh wait wait okay, looks shitty, uhh uhh wait wait wait uhh, masturbate, come back.

The best thing is when you use pics like that, you are 100% original and no one can say crap about it. They can only admire your creativity...

I think part of my photo/graphics collections are random scans, photos of crap things, and junk... I used a shot of a house brick as one of my friend's websites, and also some crunched up foil for another... As they say, one mans rubbish is another's, um, creative stuff...

haha I think just you say that but I agree.. cool idea with the foil and brick.. oh man you know what I saw the other day? I book full of scrapbooking backgrounds or whatever.. they're just huge sheets of paper with creative colors and designs. I almost bought it but that would be silly.. plain white makes great website backgrounds too lol (netpond, google, yahoo, etc)
