If the majority of the world decided that jesusiscoming is extreme then yes it should be regulated, because the decision is not just based on one country or another it would be based on a majority of the worlds countries deciding its wrong. The problem with censorship as it is at the moment, is one country can decide something is illegal just because it wants to and it then has the right to stop and monitor traffic because its illegal in that country. Take China for example it stopped a large amount of internet traffic not so long ago. __________________

yes and for the most part it's citizens are not allowed to play a number of US games, they have regulated how much a person is allowed to play world of warcraft, they made their own version of second life called Hiphi world.
In communist north korea citizens are not allowed outside of the north korean internet, not allowed cell phones, not allowed american movies or media. and yet the king or leader (cant remember what they call him) has his own cell phone, has a collection of American movies and enjoys all the benifits of un regulated internet...... there are additional places in the world where for example it is regulated how much money you can spend monthly on the internet. Now these are extremem circumstances but there was a period inbetween the time things were normal to where they currently reside. I feel it would be reasonable to assume that the events inbetween normal and outright censorship could arguably be the cause that led to their current situation. Another good example: California gun laws, while some of them make perfect sense others do not, and even though they are small laws it started with one silly small law that turned into a dozen silly laws and now there are dozens upon dozens of silly laws that make it next to impossible for someone like me to defend myself. If my house for example gets broken into I have to take some serious though before pulling out one of my 4 firearms, and if I make the choice to I better make damn sure that fucker is dead and pray to god he has no family to sue me......regardless of the fact that he was robbing me and that my life my sons life and my wifes life were most likly in real danger. that is why I have an issue with regulation and censorship, although I will never be in real danger due to internet regulation there is a very real possibility that it could one day infringe on my rights to freedom and persuit of happyness. rights ive gone through 3.8 years of hell to keep ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The internet is regulated but not by the government (apart from blocking certain sites and words etc) but is regulated by us... normal average people...
for example take scams if someone gets scammed when buying an item from a website they are able to tell everyone else in the world that they were scammed and soon enough the message will get passed on and people will know not to go there. Its the people that lack basic internet knowledge that think that internet is just for email and games etc but if you have something to say you can say it and people will listen. This forum is regulating the internet too as people here advise members about there site being illegal etc and also advises people on what content to put on there sites to keep within the laws |
