Need suggestions (generating traffic)

hola ponders'

i have a few mainstream video sites, (comedy, bloopers, pranks), that have been struggling with traffic.. yes, i place the blame on them!

if i were to have 20-30% of the traffic of my adult sites on these sites, my adsense revenue would be deliciously scrumptious, but alas.. that is not the case.

can any of you offer suggestions on how-to promote/increase traffic in mainstream, beyond SEO?

Toplists and specific subject directories are great for mainstream traffic.

Link trading can help, but rather than lots of link trades be very selective.

yea smart link trades would be a good idea, another one is just networking with people who are interested in watching what your showing, find out what they like, and give yourself plenty of exposure

yes you will do great im sure, also what I do is for every article I write on my site I post a link to it on a myspace account that have set aside specificly for the site. I also do this with a fashion version of myspace and trackbacks when I post here and I dont have a pr rank yet but im in the first second and third pages on some of the stuff Ive written about

If you submit every article you write to ezinearticles.com you will see even more traffic. The trick is to omtimize the article for SEO while still keeping it relevent.

Get a digital camera, go around in a trench coat, slapping bald guys on the head for a day, post videos of it.

people forget with Mainstream the content for a great site is always right in front of ya.

some things that have made me lots of coin, kitchen cabinets, fences, my cats, boats.

I agree, I had a video site and adsense just plain sucked. I know a few people who have had negative experiences with adsense on video sites as well.

I'm not a fan of adsense at all. Google pays you pennies for things they get paid dollars for. It's not fair to the publisher at all.

understood.

i am a publisher for other ppc/cpa programs (adengage, etc..), i need to revisit them as a replacement/alternative to adsense.

i think the only problem i had with those programs was the term of payouts.. more than 30days.
