How would you make a script like this?

Just checking out this script Auto Pay Switch - Multiple payment gateway switch - Clickbank and PayDotCom Affiliate switcher!. It bascially lets you use multiple payment processors. So you could use paydotcom and clickbank and affliates from both the urls would work.

Could you do something like this with htaccess or a simple php script?

That script has 100 times more lines of code for the administration backend then the actual script

Basically you make a list of affiliates and payment methods, where each affiliate has a corresponding value in the payment methods array. Making this via .htaccess only would be strange but still possible, since you would have to create premade pages for all variants. PHP on the other hand would only treat the URL parameters and output according to them.
