my first mainstream mobile site
hi, this is my first mainstream site and mobile at the same time, take a look to it from your cell phone, you can even find it useful

I've just had a look, and it was very sluggish for me (not the connection from my phone, as I was routing it through the WiFi, and the laptop was also returning a similar sluggishness).
As a user of the mobile sites, I want them (and expect them) to load on a par with, or quicker than, the computer browser counterparts. And that is the same for most users, who would have that little thing clicking in the head 'You are paying x per minute you are on-line!' Also, the pink, for me doesn't really work that well, I find it quite overpowering on a mobile screen, so I would be put off by that. What about throwing in the occasional low quality graphic to keep some attention going? For me, the mobile version of the BBC website is a good starting point BBC NEWS | News Front Page for something like this. __________________

well, each can have his opinion ... to me the site it is not slow, some sections can be because it is pulling huge content from the database but the rest is very fast.
this site scores 5 in ready.mobi, is perfect, if you don't like it or your experience in your phone wasn't good is other problem. i will not change the pink and i don't like the bbc mobi site either but thank anyways for your comments. |

I was going to say far to boring and back to the drawing board but I see what you are doing with it, calling in feeds I believe to each page. I do this on a couple of my sites with Carp. I am one of the few who never bother with Internet on their mobiles but I would imagine your site serves its purpose when viewed on one.

I like it. Or rather, I like the way it's presented.
But I wouldn't find it very usefull. It lacks to much for me when it comes to information. I checked resturants and well.. If you're in NY you're bound to find random resturants regardless if you surf this site. It doesn't contain enough info for it to be usefull. But it's a great starting point. Did you code it yourself? __________________

yes, i coded the site myself and yes, i know my database of businesses don't have enough information to be useful. i did this to start something besides porn, i picked the mobile web without having much idea, i just wanted to make something different. for the lack of information problem, my idea is in the future to add premium listings option for a small fee, this submission will be fully detailed and it will make the premium business to have it own page and have privileges in all the searches or category pages. i will add a few gold listings for free from some friends so if you have a business or know someone with a business in NYC or San Fransisco (and want to be in my site) let me know |

hey frederix no worries. pink is in season right now. thats the 2008 sprin/summer color for fashion. (or as a few fashionistas I know say) colors of the vagina. Whatever the case is it is a good start. I am going to be looking into how to rss my own articles on ModaRazzi to a mibile ready mirror. which makes you several steps ahead of me.
