From nothing to $$$ in mainstream with ringtones

Hello there people, and welcome to this new tutorial

I will try to get you started with building sites that are selling ringtones. I do not guarantee that you will make cash with them, but I did…

I will do this tutorial in steps, and post the first few steps, and once there are a few people who have completed them I will post the next steps.

I will probably create a toplist when there are a few people doing ringtone sites here, and everyone following this thread can participate.

How does it work
We do not need to create our own content, our affiliate program does that for us, it has everything we will need. You can choose if you will build your own site, or use a premade PHP kit, which you install, and with a few modifications you have your own ringtone site!

For hosting you can buy a domain and put it on your own hosting, or a subdomain you already own, but if you don’t own hosting or cannot domain yet I can host you. You will get hosting and if you don’t have a domain a subdomain on one of my sites, for just a link back from your ringtone sites to mine.

Step 1.
The first step is to sign up for the affiliate program we will use, Mediaplazza. Click here to sign up. After signing up wait for your account to get activated. Then get hosting and a domain, or contact me for hosting.

Step 2.
You can decide what kind of site you will make. If you want to follow this tutorial, choose the option:
-Promotion: Kit PHP
In the menu on the left. Download one of the php kits you like the layout of. Now open the archive you downloaded, and extract it to a local folder. Go to _config/config.php, open it and locate the variable named $sVHost (your Subdomain). Make this the username (subdomain) you chose to signup at Mediaplazza. Save this file. Then upload all the files & folders to your hosting.

Ok I decided to write a little again.

Step 3.
Modify your layout. It's quite an important step, and I haven't done so yet on one of my sites, so I need to do that soon. But when users see your site, they might recognise the layout, and go away quickly. So go change it. I beleave you can do that at /templates/. Also DO NOT forget to put up adsense, and maybe a banner for VIM passes, they give you a recurring income. Check your MediaPlazza account on that.

Step 4.
Setup a page where you will link to others, or do it in your templates. Just make sure you have a place to do linktrades, they are VERY important.

Step 5.
Do something special. Start a blog, a small informational site, review ringtones, whatever! Something different from other blogs, something people will like. Also it's very important for search engines, you can target those pages for specific keywords. Put up a link to this page/blog/site in your templates so every page links to it.

Step 6.
Now you have a good ringtones site, ready to run! Now what we need is traffic.....

There are several ways to get traffic, here are a few:

-Linktrades
-Search Engines
-PPC Search Engine traffic
-Bulk traffic
-Directories
-Offline advertising

Start with linktrades, these will get you some traffic, and more important: Get some Search Engines to your site! Read this thread:

And spend a week searching linktrades. Your future success depends on this. Then do the other steps, try them step by step.

It depends on what you will do with it... You don't have to create or manage any content for it, so that won't take a whole lot of time... Building it will take a few days, and then the steps after it, getting traffic, getting listed in search engines, trading links will take some time, but you can decide yourself how much time you want to put in...

when i am registering for account, they ask me for my site url, but i dont have one now

so would you provide me hosting (at least for beginning) and domain(i will pay you for domain)?

I sat up a ringtone sites a while ago, and added mediaplazza. But I was disapointed that they don't use geotargeting as that would have been so cool to have all those plugins display the appropriet language version...

But I would be interested how to promote them and make money since seeing that every ringtone site has mediaplazza lol

That's a thing I created: I redirect people who come on my domain to my ringtone site in their language

Works great! I think I will give people that script to use in this tutorial too

Sure, I could always setup 54 pages for each language and use a geo script of my own.
But I haven't had the time for that. I wrote them asking why they don't already do that themselfs, but never got a reply... lol

lol you do people keep asking that? There is no limit how much money you can make. It's up to you how well you do, just like in every other biz.

It's a really really long list - it depends on what country the buyer is from and how much sales you send.

Countries like Czech and Poland don't pay a lot, but the USA can pay like $2 per sale... Really depends on the country

GEO targetting has not been implicated for a very specific reason ...

When you use our white label templates, or PHP/ASP kits, we make the the sites in all the different languages for you!! All you do is customize your main page, and the customizations carry on throughout your site.

By having the links to all the countries on the top of your site, it ensures that you get every page indexed. With a little bit of common sense and good keyword selection (we even supply lists of keywords in many different languages for you!), Mediaplazza sites rank very well in the SEs

Mediaplazza is not #1 by fluke chance.

Geo-Targetting, as cool as it is, is not the best solution for SEO.

Geo-Targetting was discussed way back when the technology was still very new, and was never implimented because there is a saying : Do not try to fix what is not broken.

That figure is already outdated.

The industry is growing every single day. In 2004, we saw a 533% growth over 2003! By 2008 (not very far away at all), there will be more than 794 MILLION cellphones purchased annually worldwide. That's a hell of alot of potential clients!
