Domain name question
I have been searching for a domain name for ringtone site. Looks like most of the good names and combinations even with hyphen are already taken. But I found some domain names with .ws, .org etc extension. Can I go for it? Or is it better to stick with .com domains?

I would stick to the .com ,if you really can't find a decent .com try a .net .

Stick with .com (for the SE's). Do some keyword research at overture, check what people search for and make a domain name with that. Pick one from this for example, people search for this:

This advice isn't just for ringtone domains but any.
Perhaps look into finding another domain using words often searched for and use subdomains to add the other keywords. I did this for guide-review.com I tried to find some general words which were searched quite often. And came up with guide and review. Now with subdomains I can make an unlimited number of sites that are either guides, reviews, or both. The site I built today was Blackjack Guide which I plan to target blackjack guide with. __________________

I got ALOT of the good ringtone names ... LOL!
 But I search weekly, and still always find good ones ... maybe I should auction a few of mine off with a Netpond points auction ?? Hmmm ... I could start bidding at $10 each, and have a "buy now for" button, depending on how valuable I feel the domain is this could be cool! |

You might get away with some cctlds for country specific targetting, but I think you may have to check local laws. There is a bit of stress about ringtone sales in the UK I gather. I'd steer clear of Western Samoan (ws) domains though.
