AdWords for content - help !

I launched AdWords for content campaign, i advertise free gas cards so i put ads on sites like gasbuddy.com, gaspricewatch.com, newyorkgasprices.com etc.

And i just saw first stats: 11,8k impressions - 10 clicks !!! avr CPM 1.26$ so i paid $1.49 per ONE FUCKING CLICK. This clicks are worth no more than $0.10. It's a fuckin drama for me

What i'm doing wrong ? My ads are described properly:

Free $250 gas card
Save your money - Receive 100%
Free $250 gas card - US only

I don't know what should i do now - please help me

Not good ad copy.
Each line should read seperately.
Need call to action.

Google adwords are Way overpriced. Try overture, they run about 1/4 the price.

Do some more research on adcopy. At 1.50 a click your lucky it's bad

Try a bigger list of lower priced keywords. For lower prices.
Redo your copy. Add a click here, etc.

I'm talking about adwords for content. There are no keywords, cpm price instead of cpc etc - different game.

I think you should review AdWords / AdSense documentation. You can customize your campaign whatever you like. You can block keywords that don't give you good results. I don't recall about prices but I think if some keyword bid increases by day and you keep it you'll paying more than you want.
The CPM / CPC model is mixed. You're probably paying for both. I should read the documentation again because I don't remember how it goes...

I personally always turn the content network off. I run most campaigns purely on google's search, not even on their search network. That way you know you're getting good clicks. You can also go in and set the max cpc very easily so you don't get burned with $1.49 clicks. I once paid over $6 per click, but that was in a very competitive market and I never made that mistake again...

I tried AdWords for search engines but without luck, i launched some niche campaign with almost 500 keywords and getting maybe 10 clicks a day. With same keywords list in overture I get 350 clicks. Maybe much higher competition in AdWords is the reason :/
