Snapyourdesk.com
Anyone remember a site called snapyourdesk.com? My coworker started a number of years ago but it was a pain to update so he just pulled it. Now I told him he should start it up again and make some money off of it, since he is paying for the domain and hosting of it anyways why not use it. Or at least sell the domain, it is a PR5 and has been down for at least a year or so.
The premise of the site was people would take a pic of thier desk and send it to him and he would post them and thier name/alias. If you want a idea of what it looked like check out the archives here http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://snapyourdesk.com Does anyone have any suggestions for mainstream affilates that would be great for this site. I figured that ringtones and adwords would be good but anyone else have any ideas of things that might sell on the site. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. __________________

What an unusual concept. Adbrite might be something you could consider as well. Perhaps more can be made off the network runs then associated keywords with adsense.

It's nice and unusual. I imagine this is the sort of site people would talk about, or at least email to friends.

original concept indeed....when it comes to mainstream affiliates, you should try some computer related programs maybe, or office furniture.... just a suggestion

When the site was up he was getting articles and stuff written about it all the time, on yahoo biz, USA today things like that. I told him he was nuts for pulling it but he was not making money and overloading his hosting plan.
Thanks for the suggestions, Office furnature is a great suggestion, and could be easily incorporated into the site without it looking like an ad. Never used adbright but I will look into it __________________
