I need a list of link directories

It would be cool if the directories are sorted by their pagerank. And hints?

I have found such a list only for german directories (If anybody needs it drop me a PM or post here)

Look at the pages where your site is going to be listed and then look at how many other links are on that page, but do not judge a site by the page rank of it's index.

I submit my sites manually. If the index page of the link directory has a PR of 2 or less I will not submit there and wait until the PR raised.

So if the index has a pr 10 and the page they list you on is 100 deep with a pr 1 you think its going to benefit you?

look at the page and postion of where they are going to list you, look more at how many incoming/ outgoing links links that page has and what content is on there.

IMHO there is no directory with a PR of 10 out there, DMOZ has a PR of 9 ;-)
If the index page has high PageRank I will have a look at the directory.
If the index page has a PageRank of 0-1 I will save my time.

BTW now I have a list of 384 directories with PR from 0 up to 9. If anybody needs such a list drop me a note.

Last time, Pr is a page by page thing, look at the page where your site is going to be listed no other page cos thats the only one that matters to you.

Search google for the keyword your going for, look at the top 20 sites and work out where they get there links from and submit there.

Recp linking has all but been killed, many people now say its a total waste of effort, personally I don't, however 1 way links are now much more important.

If your so worried about PR just buy a link from a Pr 7-9 site on there index, won't get you much traffic as Pr is a 1999 thing but it might make you feel better.

I know that links from pages with a high PageRank aren't a guarantee for high traffic (I'm playing the game since 1997).
The only thing I asked for was a list of web directories sorted by PR and NOT a discussion about SEO and PageRank

1. When I make a new niche mainstream or adult site I link first from my own sites within the same theme (I run my sites on 5 different servers now)

2. Then I use Arelis 4.22 to find potential link partners. This software checks and filters a keywords phrase in hundreds SE's within minutes. (Hint: Arelis 5 should be released in the next six weeks). If anyone is interested there is a free demo on their site for testing.

3. At last I try to get linked in directories. I have listed my first sites for 5 years now and the top site still gets 60 hits a day from a single directory.
