It appears to be fixed. That was the fastest recovery I've ever seen. Kudos to Netpond!

A reminder to all: change your password now just in case the db was compromised. I suspect it was a (now patched) flaw found in vBulletin.

All passwords at vb's db is encoded with md5. so you dont need to panic about passes...

(responding to two people here)

That's the odd thing. That was far from my first post, so I assumed a db restore.

Also, I didn't intend to cause a password panic. Was just a paranoid suggestion. I tend to get that way.

as for md5 encoding, there are online databases that store md5 hashes of common passwords etc, so even now, be scared!!!

Edit: as a test, i thought i'd run some of my users hashes from a mainstream site of mine through. found lots of users passwords.

Some pay sites sell old user and pass used at their sites and the buyers
make password hack programs anyone can get on the net.
Usually they put CCbill in search and try to hack the sites listed under
ccBill.

I used to love catching them trying to hack my paysite before I sold it
when I'd check my server status..LOL
I'd FTP in and change the url they were hitting and rename a looped
redirect to off shore clicks I had on the server.
It opened 20 new windows in 4 seconds and then looped back
and started again.
And as they're hitting ya 3 times a sec Before they knew it their puter
was locked up
The only way they could getout of it was to pull the power supply on
their puter..
