AdSense Disappointment

After a long and painfull process of getting some traffic to a "Debt Consolidation" related site, I am starting to see a few clicks.

However I expected them to be at 2$-5$ a pop.......in my case i am seeing something like 30 cents

what a waste of time

could have just stuck to some easy uncompetitive niche

I am a member of a large Mainstream forum and many posts there say that they are getting less than 10 cents a click. I think Adsense pay rate has been going down.
I only make about 8 cents a click on my celebrity sites.

"Debt Consolidation" is saturated to the gills. 30 cents sounds like a lot for that venue. IMHO

I agree with Glowlite, that niche is far too saturated. How many mesothelioma sites are there!

Choose a niche that's less competitive. Adsense is worthless if you dont have any traffic, it's ten times better to get 100 clicks at 10 cents a click than 1 click for a dollar.

Don't worry about the price per click, worry about the traffic.

i wonder how much google are paid for those keywords. if you get 30cents how much do they get for it ? whats the profit margin for them?

I have seen some people run 3 or more Adsense blocks on one page and the third block is where they get the clicks from, it is also where the ads that cost the least go. I like to only have one block of Ad's per page, I will use two but only if I'm sure its not taking clicks away from the first Ad. Not saying its your prolem, just taking a stab, PM your site if you want.

My Adsense numbers have been falling like a sinking ship recently, I have gone back to building sites for other sponsors and running adsense on them as a bonus, they are still my biggest mainstreme sponsor but I have gone off building sites just for them, sort of covering my ass if they go belley up one day.

looks like most in this thread has decreasing income from adsense? Whats happening? Should publishers panic? Google adsence program is going down? or what. how come? when adwords is becoming more popular

Maybe google are reducing the amount of payouts per click?

niches like loans debt health and such are well saturated, try ti find niches that are not saturated and there are a lot of niches that still can make decent money.

its all about keyword research that is the most important thing about building adsense sites, invest in a good keyword tool i use keyword analyzer its a great tool it cost $97- i believe but it is Worth every dime.
