Do a search for FFA (free for all). that's what they're called in mainstream, linkdump in porn (from what I've seen atleast)

I keep reading these type of comments, but never read that anyone know anyone this has happend to...
For me, when adding a new site, I dump it to linkdumps. Within a day or so it's been spidered and listed. So far I haven't had any negative returns.

The problem is the links last for a very limited time
So you may quickly get some links, normally on a page linking out to lots of other low quality sites, frequented by spammers. After a few days half of the links are gone and a few days after that nearly all are gone, it's sort of like guest book spamming.
Your going to see a lot longer term benefit by submitting to permanent link sites.
So sure they are going to get your site spidered, but then again just surfing the site with an engines toolbar on your browser will do that too.

Think of incoming links like votes for your site, today you have 200 links, tomorrow 150 the next day 50 and the next 5. If you were a bot would you conclude this is a site that is increasing in quality?

A lot of these places are known by SE as bad neighborhoods and your link will be nothing worth, sure you get spiders to came and you will be indexed but what can you do when your page is listed om page 297 of the SE

And if you link to such a place your site will be banned, but dont my word for it just try it out yourself and you will see and we can say: "we tolled you so"

Anybody serious about their mainstream sites should avoid link dumps (aka 'FFA sites') AT ALL COSTS!!

For the time it takes you to find them and submit to them, and subsequently delete all the shit they drop into your inbox, you could have started reading some LEGIT SEO/Traffic forums (SEOchat, Shoemoney, and DigitalPoint come to mind), and already started to procure some REAL TRAFFIC ...

Mainstream does not lend itself to the same (lack of a)business plan that adult does, mostly because the better part of mainstream sponsors do not pay out the $30-50 payouts that adult does ...

Throwing as much bottom-of the barrel shit traffic at your site as you can, and hoping for the best, is going to leave you for the most part very disappointed in the mainstream arena.

Learn how to get REAL (targetted)TRAFFIC to your sites, and you will never again have to throw dynamite into the lake hoping that you catch a fish.

But then again, what do I know??

Maybe I should mention that I don't use a ld submit tool and that I only submit to a few selected dumps. And it's my own dumps that gets my new sites spidered. So the SEs probably don't see a huge increase of incoming links and then a steep drop off like you mentioned. Maybe that's why it works for me without penalty.

As I can see no one did ask him why he needs FFAs ... I agree that for serious sites you should avoid FFAs but I use them for shitty sites where I need fast traffic and which are important to me only for a 2 - 3 days ... some webmasters do that type of sites, you know ... we all have our own techniques for some things ... so don't be rude to a guy just because he asked you a question ...

Completely agree. This is one area where mainstream is behind. Mainstream does not have enough good quality Link Dumps like Adult. Just stay away from FFA sites. Not worth it!
