How many years have you been in the adult entertainment business? I had my first site around November of 94 I made $80 my first month and right around $5000 my second month. The guys at work teased me that the FBI was going to come knocking on my door. I didn't spend a dime except for hosting and content I figured I would have to have a lawyer before it was all over with but I was too far in it to quit. When I was in it about 6 months, Snuggles looked at the checkbook she pretty well flipped with "where did all this money come from?" 2. Where are you located? Missouri 3. What person or person's helped you when you first started out? My main mentors was Dokk, Fantacy Man from Cyber Erotica, XxxPhoto from camz.com and of course this crazy dude named Meatman. But back in the day everyone really helped everyone. We were one huge family. Back then if anyone found a secret or a trick, it hit Netpond (condom project), maybe not every one but 99% of them did.. 4. What would you consider your greatest success in this business? Getting a hand in teaching some of the great webmasters, LB, Rvince, and countless others. 5. What would you consider your worst failure in this business? I am my own worst failure, I drove myself into the ground. Pushing myself too hard, not taking the time off when I should have, always pushing myself. 6. Where do you see yourself in five years? Sitting right here doing what I do best, Helping webmasters. 7. When do you think you will retire? Either when Meat gets tired of me being around or I am 6 feet under. I have no plans to leave Netpond. 8. What drives you every day? Knowing that if newbies would work hard listen to me and others it will change there lives forever and put them in a financial situation that they never would have dreamed of. 9. How much do you accomplish every day (site building, outsourcing, content editing, etc.)? Because of things that have happened I don't think exactly straight anymore, I have a hard time concentrating, to sit and work on a project takes me hours that used to take 30 minutes. I do one thing, Netpond, that's pretty much it. I hope one day to bring back some of the projects I have. 10. What would you tell newbies to expect from their first year in business? In the first year, you're not here to make money, you're here to learn. A brain surgeon takes years to learn his trade. Take your time, this is a business - treat it as one. You don't give up on it, it won't give up on you. You just have to learn. 11. What bothers you the most. There is actually 2 things that really bother me. When a newbie hits me up and says, "I need to make money, I am in a hurry." To me they might as well go to work at McDonald's because it [quick money] is not going to happen. This is not a hurry up business. It comes over time. Some newbies won't contact me because they put me on a pedestal, or they will apologize for asking me a question. I am not like that at all. I am a very simple person I live a very simple life. I remember my roots very well. I know how and where I come from and I know it can be a long hard road, I am always here for them, all they have to do is pm [Private Message] me. 12. What drives you to work with webmasters so much? Their all important first sale, I get just as much out of them making a sale as I did getting checks in the mail. Its kind of like getting a puppy or my first bicycle as a kid. I know when they are selling they are in the process of changing their life. 13. What do you think is the biggest misconception? That a person has to put in 16 hours or more a day to be profitable. If the newbies that started out today would just work a few hours a day and not give up, they will learn, not as fast as someone putting in long hours, but over time they will get the knowledge they need to where quitting there day job and going full time. It might take them a couple of years but once you start building traffic over time you would really be surprised how it adds up. 14. If you could change one thing in the industry what it be? Our business model sucks, I would pull anything hardcore off of the 'net except for in a paysite, once a surfer learned there was no more hardcore, they would have to pay for it. There would be a boat load of millionaires over night, and sales would be 100 times better than they were back in 1995 and 96. 15. Because you have been in the biz so long where did all the old timers go? The ones that were making good money left with full pockets. Everyone suffers from burnout at some point and time. Some work through it, others just quit over time. There are a lot still around, you just don't see them because they are got tired of boards and the public eye. 16. Speaking of public eye do you do any webmaster conferences? I would love to go, but because of my health, I don't travel that much. But I loved going and meeting webmasters and being with some of my old friends. 17. One last question: if you could tell everyone one last thing, what would you say? Hmm thats a tough one, I would have to say the webmasters that are huge or on there way to becoming huge. Say like _LB_, I didn't make _LB_. _LB_ made _LB_. I gave him what helped him get his start, but it was his work and his determination that made him. There is no golden key, no short cuts. Its all hard work and taking the time to learn.
