how do you create Google sitemaps?

Just use Create your Google Sitemap Online - XML Sitemaps it does it for you.

If you're on a PHP server then I'd recommend you used: Free Google Sitemap generator phpSitemapNG - enarion.net

It's very easy to set up and it's all web-driven so very easy to use.

O.k I tried the first one but I can't upload anything into my html folder on my Thumblogger sites so how do I do this with TB?

mikesinner, I dont think that you can do this with Thumblogger. Unless you can create it in a page. Go to your blog you want to create a sitemap for and click on the Pages tab. Then create a page and enter all the sitemap info in there. Im not sure if you can do it that way or even with Thumblogger. You might need to have a host of your own.

cool do you have to have a link to your sitemap from the front of your blog like you have in the pages box?

Yea, check out Teen Seduction - thumblogger.com its on the top right. Says sitemap in the box.

Yea, I see that. I just didn't know if it was necessary to keep the page box visible so Google has a link from your front page of the blog you are making the sitemap for. You can hide that box in the control panel.

Yes. If you want SE's to have a chance of crawling them via the sitemap.

If you use the wordpress plugin, it automaticly creates a new sitemap each time a post is edited, moved or created though.

Just to muddy the water a bit... I am a firm proponent of going to the source if at all possible. I am writing an article (Secret one) about sitemaps. Part of the article will be a list of URL's, the ones listed below.

What is a Sitemap file and why should I have one?
What other formats can I use for a Sitemap?
Using the Sitemap Protocol
Using the Sitemap Generator

I think every Professional Adult Webmaster should do a Read at least once. And do not panic if you do not understand it all. Always remember you can post questions here.
