Could someone tell me how to resize a banner? I've been trying to do this but mine just doesn't come out looking right.

if you already have it made and want to be lazy you can just set the width and/or height in the img tag and itll resize the physical size (if thats what your looking to do)

If you have photoshop...

If you have Adobe photoshop you could open the banner and goto:
"Image" in the menu bar which will cause it to drop down then select:
"Image size" and you will have a table showing you the banner and giving you the dimensions. change the number and save.

If that don't work...send it to me and I'll do it for you Free!

"Paint Shop Photo Album 5" if you are like me, useless at creating graphics and looking for a simple crop and resize tool that is affordable. There were plenty for sale on eBay with licence.

The easiest program for resizing is ThumbsPlus, but many programs will do it for you.

I use The Gimp as my main graphics editor and it works great, two clicks for resizing a banner.

Plus it is free, and works in Windows and Linux.

Google IrfanView and then open the image, press CTRL+R and set the new size.

any luck yet? the only way to reduce the size is to make sure to keep the ratio..as mentioned before open it in Photoshop and goto IMAGE SIZE change the dimension of one of the measurements...if set up properly it should keep the ratio intact and just resize the file..if you are still having issues send it to me at flynn [at] mvtcash.com Ill do it up real quick

You can do that in Paint, go to Image > stretch/skew if you don't know any other way

photoshop works great, if you want to resize a animated banner use image ready (included usually with photoshop suites)

Thanks everyone for all of the tips and advice.

And thanks gzone for the offer of help.

I've been in and out with my internet service all weekend due a bad tornado near by, so just now getting back to my banner problem. Will use the advice everyone has given and see if I can get my banners to the right size and not distort the image.

if your trying to resize an animated banner, load it into Adobe Image Ready then you can resize to any size and not hurt the animations.
