Comus thumbs template help?

Hi everyone, installed ct, have some questions if somebody in here is a little advanced. How do i implement let's say 4x4 thumbs +4x4 thumbs on a template i have done my self?.
I understand i can use default templates and edit them, in that case i would get all the macros set in the default template. Am i right about that in order to have a specific color in a default template, i have to change the color inside the sourcecod of that default template with the color i want it to be?. (template control center at ct-admin)

Is there anyone who could just give me a very basic instruction on how to implement the macros in my allready done html.
Can i just put in the macro for productivity Booster(changing my thumbs 4 times a hour) in a blank template and then build around it and, lay on color and text and so on?. and/or in a allready finished template). Could i have less thumbs than default and still the Productivity booster will work just the same on those 4x4 + 4x4 thumbs i would have set up?.
I do not know how to write in code so i do it with a program, that's prob why i am not so sure about all these codes to put inside the source and were.
I have done a template at ct-admin but how do i know it have the prod booster macros in it?. For me to know stuff like this i would probably need a button saying prod booster template here etc...lol.
I don't seem to fully understand how to do, it frustrats me.
