Need help making/working with thumbs

Hey all!! I've seen a lot of tgps with extreme good looking thumbs and i tried to find out how they to thumbs like these but i had no luck :|

Can anyone explain me how to make them look like this?
What is the best & easiest software??
Anyone know where can i find a tutorial with this?

Photoshop. I doubt you'll find any tutorials. Those that know how to get those nearly perfect thumbs don't like to share the info.

To do work like that, takes practice. There are Photoshop plugins and filters that can help, but you are going to need to learn the basics first.

Another thing to consider to is, if you spend the time cleaning up the thumbs to make them look like magazine quality, then you send them off to a sponsor whose images are not of the same quality, it may turn some surfers away.

I thought there was a script or a add on for a popular TGP script that produced polished thumbs like that? Can't remember though where I read it. Oh well... it'll come to me... lol!

good thumbs if you run a tgp with a high skim .. and want people to click like crazy ... as said above .. if you don't skim or don't have a high skim .. making thumbs and throw a sharpen filter over it .. should be more then enough.

I don't really like these you have posted .. they are too much touched, there are nicer ones to find .. and There have been some tuts posted about this in the last years on differnt places.

Don't ask me where, but I know for sure I have been reading at least 2-3 tutorials on how to make these type of thumbs .. So deep digging some adult forums .. could bring up teh info you are looking for .. hehe

I like the thumbs you have posted and the quality is great. Something like that would work good advertising Hi-Def sites. I never bothered touching them and if you need alot of thumbs made search google for thumbnail gallery builder you'll find a free to try tool that makes a ton of thumbs at once.

Does anyone know of a program where you can enter in a bunch of gallery URLs and then the program will go crawl those sites and download the thumbs and images to your hard drive?

If you want to crank through thumbnails (on a PC) try FastStone Photo Resizer. Free, and it works like da bomb.

i guess you have to manually edit each image on photoshop to get a fine result like those.

^I don't think so, they are only thumbs afterall so what I'd be going for is consistency which could be done with some sort of batch processing

They look like paintings to me. I don't think you need to have them that way. Just use sponsors that already have HQ thumbs

A quick way of doing it (using Paintshop Pro not Photoshop ) is to open the image up, resize* it to the dimensions you need (press shift+F) then do 'Sharpen' once and then 'Clarify'** at setting 1 (or 2 but no more than 2). Working with very good images helps a LOT tho as had been said


*Using 'Smart size' option in the 'Resize' window works best imo.
**Clarify can be found in the Adjust ---> Brightness and Contrast menu
