What camera are you using

I got myself an Olympus E-500 a few months ago, but I would definatly need to take a few photography courses in 2008.

I do plan to direct many shoots in 2008, and it could be handy to be able to shoot with a camera instead of always being the video guy!

What camera(s) you are using?

I'm using a Pentax Optio E30 and I'm really happy with the quality of the pictures it takes and it was really affordable (under $200), I could've opted for something more expensive, but it came highly recommended to me, so I chose it and am pretty satisified with what it does for my needs.

I've got a Fuji 2800Z that I've had for a few years. It's still taking good pictures, so I'm a bit reluctant to upgrade immediately, but I might look at a video system.

Canon 350D + EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 lens + 430EX flashgun.
Currently very happy with it although I have an itch to replace the camera body by a 40D :-)

Cannon EOS 40D and 28-135 AF Stabilization lens which cost me 2 arms and a leg due to the fact im not a content producer. Many of the features are really great for an SLR noob like me who does not want to be tied to a tripod. I also have 3 other older Sony Cams that take great pics but have so many limitations. It took me nearly a year to finally decide between Nikon and Cannon which in the end it came down to what felt most comfortable.

I will post some pics later to show how great this camera shoots even in the hands of a novice.

*sigh*.... I've got a Kodak EasyShare Z740! Not bad at all, would love to get a digital camera with manual shutter speed to play around with.

I use the Canon 5D camera bodies. I also use the Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS lens as well as the Canon 24-70 f2.8 lens. I love Canon cameras because they reproduce skin tones very well - better than anything other camera I've ever used.

I have an amateur's Canon Powershot G3 which is coming up to 5 years old now, so I need to get a new one.

I'm thinking of a digital SLR, and would have got a Canon EOS 350D or greater, but I've seen a nice Fujifilm digital SLR lately... hmm, decisions...

Well, just shot the 20,000th picture on my primary D200 in less than a year. Backup D200 is at 16,493 pictures and counting.

Fried one of the $429.00 SB-800 flash units during this "Bring Me Your Sister Shoot" while Tasha was shooting stills. (Not sure if the photographer was too hot or the subject)

Both Nikon's are less than a year old and the backup was in for warranty repairs of the sync plug. Love the Nikon's - faster than my Fuji S3 but not quite the dynamic range. Still keep the S3 and S2 for backup and outdoor work where I want the added dynamic range.

I have a variety of lenses from the 17-35 f2.8 to the 300mm f2.8 and use them all.

Did it mention that I love my job?

I feel the pain - I'm a photographer stuck behind a video camera most of the time - I do find it much simpler to teach someone how to shoot video that how to take good pictures - have fun and I'll help where ever I can.

Yes, my first digital camera was a Cannon and that was what the sales guy told me, that Cannon has the best realistic colours for any type of reproduction. I remember the day when I went to go and buy my first camera, I was going to get one of those kodak packages (camera/printer) which was more expensive then the Cannon and the guy told me not to waste my money. So he suggested a cannon instead, but not too long after I lost it and they didn't have any in stock, so he recommended the Pentax Optio (which I am very happy with). I do really like the quality of the Cannon mini-printer which I still have, the pictures turn out great on it.
