What video camera you use??
Just wondering what the rest of my fellow pornographers is using to shoot their videos with.
I am using "Sony HVR-A1" with the 0.7 wideangle converter and a extra large battery pack. The camera has 1-cmos chip, in good lighting conditions it gives good colors and results. Also everything can be set to manual. It is lightweight and easy to handle I'm happy with it. |

I'm using a Canon HV-20. This has been superseded by the HV-30, but they are basically the same. I shoot progressive video, which does need work to do the 3:2 pulldown from NTSC 60i to 1080p24, but it is worth it. I end up with video that doesn't have any interlacing on a computer (or crappy deinterlacing artifacts). I can also pull stills from the video, with good lighting, which look like they were shot on an actual still camera to most people.
I have a bunch of accessories for it, for example I've found in necessary to put an external mic on a bracket raising it well away from the body, to cut tape noise. I am also playing with a 35mm DOF adapter, but don't know if I have enough light to use it on wide shots. I use a "Merkury" 0.45x wide-angle adapter, and have a Tokina 0.5x in route, since the Merkury has a bit too much distortion. For a mic I am using an Azden SMX-10 stereo mic, and I've found a dead cat for it- It gives surprisingly good sound once its away from the tape noise. The HV-20 doesn't offer control over everything directly. But there are "tricks" you can do so you have manual control over it all. Its an astonishingly good camera for the price, with sufficient light it's videos and frame grabs are virtually indistinguishable from the $3,200 Canon XH-A1 I'll try to post some pix of the full setup I have later on. |

Still using the same old GL2 I've always been using. Give the room some light and no other cam settings needed. Just turn on and start shooting. Sound quality is wonderful. Little pitchy when the models get to laughing around, etc... Dropped it a billion times and still works like a champ.
Panasonic PVGS200 for secondary. Never been dissatisfied. |
