Frequency of index page updates: question

i wanted to know if there was any negative to frequently updating your index page with content?

No it's not, the better the update, the more time google will index it and gain "power". It's good to change the content once a week or once at 15 day max.

i currently update my index pages daily (new videos), but i am considering dropping down to twice/once a week.

it may affect my return visitors, but the trade-off is better indexing of my index page due to the keyworded video titles.

i find once every 3 days to be the most beneficial

i always changed my index after google bot accessed. so the next time it will be unique again. so goole always happy to crawl my index.
