Doing Jayman's Bidding
|
Okay, this is probably a bizarrely n00b question coming from me, but I was just looking at how SpookyCash.com displays to Google and it seems like it can't see anything in the frame where the news (all the page's text) is.
Does Google not index framed content? Suggestions on how to have that coded better for SEO? |

Google will see some frames, however even google themselves admit they don't like frames Does Google index sites with frames?
It is probably not paying attention to the frame because the page is image based apart from that frame. Adding some actual text to the page outside of a frame will in theory get the frame showing in results. __________________

It will find it easier if you dont use frames how ever.....
it will still find it, but please try and make thier job easier though by linking to the frames. ... However there is your main problem, cos your fames with all the content have stuffed metas. title SpookyCash /title How many searches did that get last month? MAKE sure that the internal content frames are meta tagged forget the sppoky crap and the blues what ever. Gothic Porn Affliate, Tattooed Sex Sites etc thats what you want those titles to be more like too get the right webmasters in. Google wants your content, make it easy for them __________________

But, no, terrible for SEO. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't use them. Just think of how to utilize them and still gain the benefits of SEO. What's a css frame and why aren't they really frames? Maybe that's what Google uses instead of ******s.. well either way I still love ******s. I used them to make my cms even more powerful. __________________

WARNING! May ask stupid questions...

I'm not sure, but I think that it is an AP Div, what is being described here... They look pretty similar in usage, but if you set one to scroll, you may get horizontal scroll bars across the bottom. The difference is, that the content is on the same page, not loaded in from somewhere else.
My personal rule of thumb, is that if you cannot read it as part of the page code, then there is no way a search engine is going to read it. Which is part of what daedal is saying, with the main page being image/frame based, there is nothing to see for the search engine. Also, what Baldbastard about your meta, is a very good and valid point. Your meta descriptions are a bit site specific, and not really taking you anywhere... A lot of webmasters will search by genre, not by definitive keyword... |
