Does this tool exist?
I'm new to the whole SEO thing and, well, I suck at it. I have some sites that I want to work on, but I don't know which terms to optimize for. For example, one of my sites has a definite theme, so I'm wondering if there's a tool that will let me search general terms that relate to the theme and spit out 1, 2, or 3-word phrases that are commonly searched.
Or, more simply, is there a tool that shows how often keywords/phrases are searched? __________________

goodkeywords is a good software to find keywords, its free, give more importance to your first keyword, like when you create title, first keyword (best searched keyword of your niche) + Second Keyword (average searched keyword of your niche) + Third Keyword (less searched keyword), use this format, also there is more importance for keyword in title + keyword in domain, so find good keyworded domain.

There are a lot of tools (some of them mentioned above) but as far as I know there is no tool which give you information about search trends at Google except Google's tools: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and Google Trends
Unfortunately Google doesn't want to reveal the actual numbers of how often keywords are being searched. You can just compare the frequency of searching for any keywords you want but you can't know how often those keywords have been searched for. __________________
