Outbound Links: rel="no follow"

hello Ponders!

i just read-up on the (rel="no follow") attribute you can add to href's, to prevent those urls from being considered in the SE ranking algorithms.. my questions:

1.
if you build a page with alot of yummmy keyword phrases for anchor links to FHG's, and add the (rel="no follow") attribute, will your page still benefit from the yummy keyword rich content?

2
do outbound links with keywords/phrases get associated with your site, or are they associated to the linked site?

I have started to do this and there are alot of good results.
One bad thing is that I remember I got top listings on google/yahoo for the paysite name directly with my Affiliate Code in it...

being associated with a paysite and having your affiliate code doesn't seem too bad to me

i'm going to try the (rel="nofollow") with a local redirect script.. have you tried that before?

yes, any text on page including anchor counts in the keyword density for X on that page. "follow" or "no follow" does not change this. This is why g00gle has given more "weight" to keyword prominence I suspect and has narrowed their keyword spam definition.

Those sales coming in directly from the SE's are pretty sweet

but this happens only sometimes (maby only for me)

having your aff link indexed is a great thing, for sure..

i wanted to limit the number of outbound links to my sites, if i was being penializd for that.. sponsor links/link trades are my likely candidates.

Use "no follow" when you have 50+ links out on page, don't dry your page.

You can smile on tip, but you can be marked like "link farm" by G not just to lost link juice

And that 50 is some max for me, but lot of people say don't go over 20 per page...

Any sites you have 50+ outlinks at are on feeders, so don't bother with the nofollow.
It is much better to just let the SE's snap them.
