Paid links will always be around, if someones doing a no follow tag on them I would not buy any links. Buying links has been a problem since day 1 with search engines, they will never be able to work out the nature of links, sites frequently link out to off target pages, engines like these links cos frequently its the unusual links that yield new sites " hey check out this cool site I just found "
What I am finding though is that link age is playing a bigger role, so if your buying links you might want to look at the price of having it for 6 months or longer. |

But with the anti-paid-link algorithm incorporated into the Jagger update, new links are now sandboxed. The thinking, and rightly so as you point out, BB, is that someone paying for a text link might do it for one month, maybe two or three tops. By sandboxing new links in terms of giving it PR-in value, the SEs figure that will weed out their paid-link problem. |
