Following GTP Dave, I wanted to create a thread where people could share their best finds/discovers in their adult business.

Something like what you helps to make more money.


I will begin with:
I've found out that linking to galleries makes me more money than linking directly to tours.

Not quite a big discovery but here we go... Watch every aspect of your biz closely...
I used to be a stats freak and check every biz related stat (sales, bw, traffic etc)
As my biz grew I kinda relaxed...
Two month ago I got hotlinked by some asian sites and they burnt 12 mbit of my bandwidth... It wasn't the end of the world but it costed me 230$...
So:
1) Don't forget to protect yourself against b/w theft... (I disabled hotlink protection on purpose a couple of months ago and forgot to re-enable it)
2) Check all your stats on a regular basis (I had not and it costed me)

I've found out that my conversion ratios are around 4-8 times better with Google traffic on decent keywords, compared to all sorts of hits coming in from link trades, feeder blogs etc. - but I guess that really wasn't all that big a surprise.

Or compressed into a shorter sentence: If you can't get volume (always been a problem for me), traffic quality might save your ass.

Did I mention I love the latest Google shuffle?

It takes a while before you will ever make money from promoting adult - and it is not easy.

I discovered that other people are better at this than I am - so my referral payments from my affiliates are higher than what I pull in with my own work. I like that.
