Duplicate content issue?

I just got to the syndicatekahuna.com website and checked their service... although they said that posting same content over the network of websites (blogs) as they have doesn't trigger dupe content penalty, I'm not really buying it... on the other side, article directory sites have, in general, duplicate content all the time as authors posting same articles to the number of such a directories...

So, what is your opinion about this situation? Duplicate content penalty is possible with such a services or not?

Well, in general I understand that duplicate content is the problem, on single website and between two or more websites, but I don't get how those services go by that? Or article directories on the other side?

Well I wouldn't submit my own things elsewhere so they we're duplicated.

I have a member on my mainstream forum who has a site > My Entertainment News Portal - Read anything about entertainment news, hollywood stars, TV shows, latest movie flick, hollywood news and so much more!

The owner of that site copied all the content from wikipedia and pasted it on her site.

Then I assume because she was not getting anywhere with search results - mostly likely down to duplicate coentent and not knowing what she was doing RE SeO she tried to use my TV related mainstream site that has lots of page one rankings to do the same.

The girl who owns that my-tv-show.info/ copied and pasted a couple of articles from her own site that had already been copied from wikipedia. Needless to say her posts got deleted of course, as I didnt want copy and pasted duplicate content on my site, especially as she was trying to use my site as a relevant TV site to boast her own site in such a potential harmful way to my site.

So, what do you think, how does these guys run their service if they are literally giving away duplicate content? Would you say they are cheaters?

I don't count that in very much as their service and "mission" is not about the SEO, it's more likely about the traffic, content and publishing links on network of blogs...
But, what they do is to get the content (articles) from authors and then publish it on the number of blogs across their network (about 1500 in total) but depending on the category of your blog and so on...
So, what really bothers me here is the fact that they are posting the same article on 100, 200 or more blogs which should trigger duplicate content penalty, right? But they said in the FAQs how that is not impossible... explanation for that?

Why I mentioned something that immediately jumped out at me RE SEO and that was just the first thing I noticed was wrong, was because if they don't know what they are doing RE SEO, then they are probably not bothered about the duplicate content issue and how it will a negative effect on SERPS and just want to take the money for the service they provide - irlevant of the long term consequences for the site and clien they are provising the service for.

If they cannot explain how duplicate content is not an issue then that to my mind is proably because thre is no explanation and they are spouting tosh to make a sale.

Try checking if any of the URL's mentioned on their bloogers page in the testimonials have any decent SERPS for the serach terms you can se obviously that they are mainly targeting.

If those sites are not in the first few pages for the results they are targeting then that will tell you their duplicate content is likely having a negative effect when it comes to their SERPS and so they are rendering the sites into having to rely solely on backlinks and the lucky off chance of a click here and there and on advertising using things like adwords.

At least that's my thoughts and two cents and IMHO.
